Even after two shows as the lead, Laksh Lawani has no qualms playing second fiddle to Arjun Bijlani in Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil.

He explains, “Arjun has been part of the industry for fifteen years whereas I have just begun. If I start competing with him, I will be making the biggest fool of myself. How is the comparison even plausible?”

He adds that it’s with himself that he competes. However, in hindsight, he is content with his present position as an actor. “Look at my graph. It’s been decent. Three years ago, I was an ordinary Delhi guy who wasn’t even earning.”

Speaking of his idea of growth and his recent success, he adds, “Today I am a 20-year-old who has made a name for himself, owns a house and a car in a city like Mumbai. Now that is growth for me. I can’t complain or get insecure that I am not the main guy in a show. That will be unfair. Arjun and Drashti are my seniors and I have great respect for them.”

In addition, he explains that he does not believe in the idea lead and side-kick roles. “I don’t believe in the concept of lead or parallel lead. It’s not about that. I believe the character you play should be strong enough; otherwise there is no point.”
