A couple of months ago, Pranitha Subhash was spotted learning horse riding in Bengaluru, leaving many speculating that it may have been prep for one of her upcoming films.

Pranitha, however, simply laughs off the rumours. “It is not. Even my trainer thought I was learning the sport as a part of the prep for one of my film roles despite my insisting to him that I was learning the sport casually, to improve my fitness levels,” says the actress.

She says she had decided to take up horse riding to keep her active and warmed up, adding that she took around twelve classes over two months to get a hang of the sport and practised for around an hour in every class.

“In all, it was a very liberating experience,” says Pranitha, who goes on to add that even through the casual sport, she has sensed changes in her. “Horses are generally stubborn and very sensitive. I had to be very careful as I couldn’t risk myself getting hurt while learning. And during my training, I ensured I pampered the horse a lot and gave it carrots. It was literally like raising a pet,” she says.

“Horses are so receptive they respond to every minute sound.”
