Of all the theatre forms, puppetry always holds a special place. It never fails to amuse the audience and invokes a lot of curiosity in them. Puppetry lovers in Kochi have a reason to rejoice. A one-day puppetry workshop – Introduction to Puppet Theatre – by Preeti Galocha will be held on Sunday. The event will focus on puppet making, puppet manipulation and the main performative aspects of puppet theatre using body and voice.
The major attraction of the workshop is that each participant will be occupied with one of the styles of storytelling and puppetry i.e, Glove Puppetry, Shadow Puppetry, Pattachitra or Newspaper Bunraku Technique. The workshop aims to familiarise the participant with the captivating interaction of the non-living and the living and its various applications, on and off the stage.
Preeti Galocha is a famous name in theatre, puppetry and films. She has worked as actor, teacher, and puppeteer and also with production, direction, art and management departments in several projects in major cities in the country since 2013.
