Dramatic version of O.V. Vijayan's work gets many fans

KOZHIKODE: The much- awaited play  “Khasakkinte Ithihasam” is set to be staged at Medical College Grounds in Kozhikode on May 23, 24 and 25  using the latest equipment. There  has been a high demand for the tickets proving that love for theatre has not diminished among the art buffs in Kozhikode.

According to the organisers, the total seating capacity for one show  is 760 covering half  the ground and all the tickets except a few priced at  Rs 20,00 have been sold.  “But we are getting repeated calls  for tickets,”  said Mr James Paul, ticket sales coordinator.

“The gallery tickets were sold for Rs 500 a few days after the staging of the play was announced,” he added.   The theatre lovers in Kozhikode will get an opportunity to see one of the major literary works of the state in the form of a play using modern  equipment,” he said.

The play directed by Deepan Shivaraman has received high acclaim at all the places it was earlier staged,  including Thrikkaripur, Thrissur and Kodungallur.  As many as 40 characters created by O.V. Vijayan in his work will be recreated with   fireworks and showers on the stage giving an illusion of intimacy and interactivity.
