Theatre enthusiasts rejoice! The 30th All-Kerala Professional Drama Competition, organised by the Kerala Catholic Bishops Council, has commenced in Kochi from Wednesday. The competition being held at the P.O.C Auditorium, Palarivattom, has 12 performances showcased by some of the most prominent theatre companies in the state. Famous theatre group Kalidasa Kalakendram, Kollam, performed their play ‘Karuna’ on Wednesday.
The drama competition aims to promote performers and groups on stage, who come up with plays that send out a good message to society. The following performances will be held in the coming days at 6 p.m.
Navachethana from Kozhikode will perform 'Veetunumber 312 Ummini Makal Nalini' on September 21. Thiruvananthapuram Nakshatra Communications will perform 'Anantharam Ayal' on September 22. Kollam Avishkara will showcase 'Kanakkumaash' on September 23. 'Moonu Indian Pouranmarude Oru Divasam' by Bharath Communication, Alappuzha, will be held on September 24. 'Chaatal Mazhayathu' by Deva Communication, Kayakumlam, will be performed on September 25. 'Manasakshiyulla Saakshi' by Mala Communications, Kanjirapally, will be showcased on September 26. 'Lakshmi Adhava Arangile Anarkali' by Kozhikode Sankeerthana will be on September 27. Thiruvananthapuram Sopanam's 'Sahayathrikante Diarykuripu' will be on stage on September 28. 'Ramettan' will be performed by Sariga, Ochira, on September 29. 'Aazham' by Angamali Akshaya will be held on September 30 and the final performance 'Manushyarundu Sookshikuka' by Aatingal Sridhanya will be performed on October 1.
