Dulquer Telugu film Kaantha' put on hold?
If reliable sources are to be believed, the much-hyped Dulquer Salmaan’s Telugu film ‘Kaantha’ has been reportedly put on hold by the makers. “They want to rework on the script and it would take some more time to go on floors,” says a source and adds, “Producer Suresh Babu heard the final draft and suggested some inputs and the director’s team has agreed to make the necessary changes to deliver a sure fire hit. Since they know that Suresh Babu has enormous experience in Telugu and Hindi film industry and his corrections are bound to help them,” he adds.
Producer Suresh Babu has come into the picture since the much-talked about film is being produced by his son and actor Rana Daggubati. Already, the makers have unveiled the first look of the film on Dulquer’ Salmaan 's birthday last year and were all set to commence the shoot this year. It is directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, whose debut feature Nila (2016) won the audience award at the Cinequest San Jose Film Festival. He has also helmed the Netflix documentary series ‘The Hunt for Veerappan’.
The film would be jointly produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films and Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media. The film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil languages.
Meanwhile, Dulquer's last release ‘King of Kotha’ bombed at the box office and he also made his digital debut with Raj and DK's' Guns and Gulaabs’. He is also teaming up with Telugu director Venky Atluri for a film titled ‘Lucky Bhaskar’.
