Naga Babu’s move sparks rumours again
After working with Shyam Prasad Reddy, for many years on this show, Naga Babu had differences with him over remuneration.
Some weeks ago, we’d reported that actor and producer Nagababu had clarified why he’d left Jabardasth, one of the most popular and top-ranking comedy shows.
Now, adding a whole twist to the story is reports from one of our sources, saying that Naga Babu has joined another channel, and that he may have indeed quit on, well, remuneration grounds!
“After working with Shyam Prasad Reddy, (producer of Jabardasth) for many years on this show, Naga Babu had differences with him over remuneration. It was a small issue, but because of both their egos, it became big and suddenly Naga Babu decided to quit,” says the source.
The issue must have become a lot bigger because some more people from the show quit and joined another channel. “Two important people from the production team also quit and started a new show called Local Gangs, which airs on Zee Telugu in direct competition with Jabardasth,” added the source.
And it is Local Gangs that Nagababu has joined along with anchor Anasuya (who is still part of Jabardasth) and choreographer Sekhar Master for the new show. “Naga Babu now gets Rs 2.5 lakh per episode while Anasuya gets Rs 1.25 lakh per episode,” the source told us.While the team has already done two episodes, how it will hold up against competition only time will tell!
