Tollywood celebs ignore Y S Jagan government\'s initiatives
Barring a few personalities, Telugu cinema stars had little to say about the launch of 1088 ambulances
Tirupati: The Tollywood film industry, baring a few exceptions, has kept silent about the launch of 1,088 new vehicles for the 108 and 104 emergency services, seen as a flagship programme by the Andhra Pradesh government.
Normally, Tollywood celebs express their views freely and heap praises on the initiatives of both Telugu state governments. The Telangana government has been in the good books of the film industry right from the beginning, and the Chandrababu Naidu government in Andhra Pradesh also got many a thumbs up from film celebrities on Twitter. The current dispensation in Andhra Pradesh, however, has not come in for much praise from the film fraternity.
Initiatives announced by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government in Andhra Pradesh have got a lukewarm response. The flagship programme of 1,088 new vehicles for 108 and 104 emergency services has been appreciated only by a few, such as filmmakers Puri Jagannadh, B V S Ravi, film writer Kona Venkat and music director S S Thaman who have applauded the initiative on Twitter.
‘While the world is battling the corona crisis, hats off to Y.S. Jagan Garu to arrange a fleet of 108, 104 ambulances in urban and rural areas of AP for emergencies, accidents, disasters and serious ailments. Huge Respects Sir,’ tweeted Puri Jagannadh. Famed music director Thaman retweeted: ‘Need of the hour. Well done god bless.’
