A lesson in humility: Vedhika
The ever-charming actress Vedhika talks to about Kanchana 3, her journey so far and Bollywood debut.
Vedhika had audiences enthralled with her unrehearsed ease over the years. And films like Kaalai, KaaviyaThalaivan, Shivalinga, etc, have further positioned her as an actress with a new age vibe ever since.
Currently basking in the glory of Kanchana 3, Vedhika shares that she is pleased to see the audience embracing the horror-comedy franchise, which recently joined the Rs 100 crore club. “The fact that I was also part of the first version (Muni) of this Kanchana franchise makes it even more special to me,” she recalls, adding, “Since the film has a mix of all ingredients, we believed that the film will be a money spinner.”
Vedhika, who’ll be seen opposite Aadi Saikumar in a Telugu film, states that she’s lucky to land a Bollywood film opposite Emraan Hashmi. The film, which also stars Rishi Kapoor, is being directed by Jeethu Joseph. “It’s an edge-of-the-seat thriller,” she replies, adding, “We recently shot in Mauritius, and shooting with Emraan has been wonderful experience. “I never planned for it (Bollywood debut); it’s just happened.”
Over the years, her experience in showbiz only made her to be more patient. “I have been constantly learning with every film and humility is another thing which I have learnt,” shares the actress, adding, “I have got the opportunity to play unique roles and opposite superstars from various languages. Also, I worked with National Award-winning technicians too, so it’s been a rewarding experience.” Vedhika states that she will sign a film if she finds it ‘exciting’.
“The films I sign have given me creative satisfaction. I have taken up roles like village belle, uptown girl, ghost, starred in period dramas and commercial flicks. So treading new paths is fun, and these roles have pushed my limits as an actor,” she says.
