Shooting of Babu Jagjivan Ram's Biopic Going Apace
Vijayawada: Telugu cine director Dileep Raja on Saturday said the shooting of Babuji – a biopic of former deputy prime minister Babu Jagjivan Ram is going on at Pedaravuru near Tenali in Guntur district.
Currently, on the sets in Pedaravuru, they are shooting a scene pertaining to Jagjivan Ram’s native Chandwa village in Bihar. This is the second schedule. It will take another four months to shoot the other two schedules.
Dileep Raja disclosed that the set of Chandwa has been created without electricity lines, roads or concrete buildings. He pointed out that historical moments of Babu Jagjivan Ram are being shot keeping most technical values in view.
The movie’s director pointed out that Babuji is a historical figure who held various positions in the Indian parliament for the longest time in the world very effectively.
Jagjivan Ram's role is being played by Military Prasad, an ex-serviceman of Indian Army. Senior actress Talluri Rameshwari is playing the role of Meira Kumar, Babuji’s daughter, who went on to become the speaker of the Lok Sabha.
Dileep Raja said the roles of Gandhiji, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Babu Rajendra Prasad, Indira Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri are very important in the movie, which will be released in all Indian languages after completion of shooting, editing and other technical works.
The director disclosed that Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam actors have been selected for various roles in the biopic.
