There is a clamour for securing the overseas rights for Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film Brahmotsavam. His last film Srimanthudu stands at number two in the overseas ranking after Baahubali.

According to a source, an overseas distributor has offered nearly Rs 13 crore for the film, the highest for any Telugu film till date.

“The agreement hasn’t been signed yet as the makers and the overseas distributor are still discussing it,” says the source, adding that it will be finalised in a few days.

Srimanthudu had collected more than Rs 18 crore overseas and that has driven up the demand for Brahmotsavam.

Srikanth Addala is the director and interestingly, his and Mahesh Babu’s earlier film, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, was also a huge hit in India and abroad. Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan’s Sardar Gabbar Singh has been sold overseas for Rs 10 crore, added the source.
