The winners of the TSR-TV9 Awards for 2015-2016 were announced recently.
The popular TSR-TV9 film awards for the year 2015-16 were announced by T. Subbarami Reddy on Thursday in Hyderabad. Senior actors Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Balakrishna and Allu Arjun were all in the winners list. “These awards were chosen by the public as we received thousands of messages from them,” said TSR. He added that once they announced the nominations, they got tremendous public response. “Some fans even sent messages for actors who weren’t nominated, so that the jury considers them too,” he said.
TSR started the awards in 2009 and it has been on since. “As an art lover, I like to appreciate and encourage the talent in cinema. I am doing these functions to give a joy to the people,” he says. The awards function will be held at Port Stadium, Visakhapatnam on April 8.

When asked why Anushka was not considered for Best Actress despite her performance in the film Rudhramadevi being appreciated, TSR said that he simply followed the procedure. “I agree that she was outstanding in the film, but we prefer to give awards to actors who are willing to attend. There is no use if we announce their names and they don’t turn up to receive them,” said TSR.
The film Srimanthudu was also not considered for the same reason.
