Maybe, he wanted to do an original action film in Telugu and penned the story of 'Pedda Kapu' but it failed to impress.

With his latest action film ‘Pedda Kapu’ biting the dust at the box office, seasoned director Srikanth Addala has to rework his strategy since action films are not his forte. “Srikanth should stick to family dramas since he has command over family relationships and showcases softer emotions with ease,” says a distributor, who says that Srikanth wanted to join the league of action directors in Telugu like Boyapati Sreenu and V V Vinayak.
 
“Of course, he did impress with an action film ‘Narappa’ and extracted good performances from Venkatesh and also showcased the brooding anger of protagonists. However, it was a remake of Tamil film ‘Asuran’ and he just followed the template," he adds.

"His family dramas like 'Kotha Bangaru Lokam',' Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' and 'Brahmotsavam' were loaded with family emotions and also harped on sibling relationships and parent-son bonding .

Even today, people are watching those movies on TV since they preach good values and morals. He has command over such subjects and needs to dish out more of such movies," he concludes.
