After Animal Rashmika takes up a new challenge

After sharing screen space with superstar Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Animal,’ pretty actress Rashmika Mandanna begins shooting for her maiden female-centric film ‘Girlfriend’ in Hyderabad. “It is a new challenge for the young actress,” says a source and adds, “She is going to showcase her fiery side and indulge in action episodes to draw in audiences,” he adds.

After working with superstars like Mahesh Babu (Sarileru Neekevvaru), Allu Arjun(Pushpa), Vijay Devarakonda(Geeta Govindam) and Vijay (Varasudu), she is going to tread a new path with a female-centric film. “She has to draw in crowds on the strength of her name since her films with big heroes was a safer bet. Where the responsibility of attracting openings was left to her co-stars and she was a bit relaxed. With ‘Girlfriend’, she has to prove a point and impress the audience with a solo performance,” he points out.

After the likes of Anushka Shetty, Samantha, and Nayantara, recently Kajal Aggarwal resolved to turn a crowd-puller with her upcoming film ‘Satyabhama’. "Maybe actresses want to showcase their versatility by doing author-backed roles. As their roles are mostly restricted in hero-centric films, they want to wriggle out and depict a gamut of emotions and prove their acting repertoire,” he points out.

Rashmika is going to toil hard for her anger-driven role to prove that she is capable of doing kick butt stuff rather than just performing  bubbly lover girl roles. "Being her maiden female-centric movie, she is leaving no stone unturned since she has got a rare opportunity to scale new heights," he adds.
