Guntur Kaaram second half woes detected, rectified?
Mahesh Babu film has raised huge expectations and expected to draw sensational openings
Undoubtedly, superstar Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film ‘Guntur Kaaram’ has raised huge expectations among fans and general audience too. This prompted the makers to double-check things before hitting the theatres on January 12. They reportedly detected a few minutes of ‘lag’ in the second half. “Instantly, they reworked on it by adding a song to speed up the proceedings and also trimmed a few scenes to make the screenplay faster and engaging,” says a source and adds, "Director Trivikram Srinivas watched the film and was overseeing all the changes to deliver a sure-fire winner,” he adds.
Mahesh Babu towers over his rivals at the box office including Nagarjuna and Venkatesh this Sankranthi season and he hopes to draw sensational openings, although the much-hyped pre-release event has been cancelled. “They will be holding the event at all costs to generate more hype and hoopla to set cash registers ringing on Day One and subsequently sustain at the box office for more weeks,” he points out.
The heady combination of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas has definitely given an edge to the film among other Sankranthi releases since they have delivered a huge blockbuster ‘Athadu’ in the past. “This is the best combination to arrive this Pongal since Trivikram is adept in packing his movie with family drama with action in equal measure and they are bound to draw sensational openings,” he concludes.
