Will Hanu Man Woo Hindi Audience Like Karthikeya 2?
Director Prashanth Varma aims to captivate North Indian audiences with his socio-fantasy film 'Hanu-Man'.
Hyderabad: With new-age director Prashanth Varma’s upcoming film ‘Hanu-Man’ set to be released across India in over 1000 theatres, they are hoping to recreate the magic of ‘Karthikeya 2’ starring Nikhil Siddharth, among Hindi film viewers. Both films are socio-fantasies and revolve around Hindu Gods. If "Karthikeya 2’ tasted success by glorifying Lord Krishna, ‘Hanu-Man’ banks on Lord Hanuman to draw in non-Telugu viewers in big numbers.
"Hence, the 'Hanu-Man' team is quite confident to score well among North Indian viewers since ‘Karthikeya 2’ was a sleeper hit in the Hindi belt and raised the bar on socio-fantasies from Tollywood," says a source.
He further adds that Prashanth Varma was buoyed by the overwhelming response to his teaser and trailer and they even cut the budget for promotions for the Hindi version. "They are riding on a huge response for the trailer since it talks about an underdog who rises to the occasion with the support of Lord Hanuman and it turned out to be a universal theme," he points out.
The makers also believe that once Lord Hanuman is unveiled in the magnum opus, Hindi audiences will be overwhelmed with joy since it has been designed well after inputs from scholars and gurus. "Lord Hanuman's appearance is going to reap rich benefits for the film. As the audience would be feeling the ‘divine presence’ throughout the film," he concludes.
