DSP's Oo Antava' towers over Anirudh Kaavaalaa'
It seems like ace Telugu composer Devisriprasad has scored over his arch rival from Tamil film industry Anirudh Ravichander this time. The much-hyped item song ‘Kaavaalaa’ from Rajnikanth starrer ‘Jailer’ was unveiled yesterday but it didn’t really take off in a big way and it is drawing mixed response. While a composer feels that it has to go a long way to surpass 'Oo Antava Mava’ popularity in various languages besides 10 millions views and more.
“Oo Antava..’ was a sensational hit not only for its catchy tune but it also had a lyrical value. It exposed the mindset of males towards women and the audience lapped it up. Adding to it, the graceful and intricate movements by Samantha and Allu Arjun pepped it up and made it visually-pleasing as well. It eventually turned out to be one of the most popular songs of Indian cinema in recent times. Of course, 'Kaavaalaa' is a racy number and Tamannaah looks sensuous. It is bound to be lapped up by the fans of Rajnikanth. But personally, I think that the song will have limited reach in other languages like Hindi unlike ‘Oo Antava’," says a composer on condition of anonymity.
In fact, DSP’s latest chartbusters like ‘Where is the Party’ and ‘Poonakalu Loading’ from Chiranjeevi’s ‘Waltair Veeraiyya’ have already given him an edge over others in Tollywood.
