Nandamuri Balakrishna has officially announced his 100th film at the new capital of Andhra Pradesh on Ugadi. “A few stories had come to me and all of them were nice. But finally Krish came with this subject of Gautamiputra Satakarni and I immediately accepted it,” says Balakrishna.

Satakarni was a Telugu king who ruled India. “People, especially our Telugu people, should know about King Satakarni who was very popular,” he says.
He adds that he is happy to announce his 100th film on the auspicious day of Ugadi. “Sometimes I can predict good things before they start, but I never thought that I would do Satakarni’s character, but it came to me.

Another interesting point is that my father, the late NTR, who had portrayed almost all popular mythological characters and kings, didn’t portray this one. So I feel it’s a great honour for me to do this film.” Director Krish was also present at the announcement of the film.
