A new actress in Tollywood

A month after the announcement of Aadi Saikumar’s upcoming film to be directed by Prabhakar Podakandla was made; the latest update from the project now is that the leading lady has been finalised.

After making a promising debut in Marathi and Tamil cinema, actress Vaibhavi Shandilya is now set to make her debut in the Telugu film industry.

The film’s director Prabhakar apparently chanced upon Vaibhavi after seeing her performance in her earlier films. Prabhakar apparently needed someone who “was very expressive” and Vaibhavi, who is also a theatre artist and a Bharatanatyam and Kathak dancer fit the bill. Prabhakar believed she would suit the character well. “Vaibhavi is pleased with her character and the script. The team approached her and things have been moving positively for the unit,” said a source.

Vaibhavi, who is currently working on two Tamil films Server Sundaram and Sakka Podu Podu Raja, is expected to join the set soon.
