Maha Samudram wraps up shoot

It’s been four months of extensive shooting for director Ajay Bhupathi, director of Maha Samudram, which was wrapped up on Thursday. In fact, only four days of shooting were left when the second wave of the pandemic struck, says Ajay. The last shot was filmed on Sharwanand and Siddharth.

Referring to the two heroes, the director said, “Neither of them had any airs; they behaved like newcomers and delivered stellar performances. Their energy was infectious. In fact, by the end of the shooting they became besties.”

“Since the film is set in Vizag, we shot there for more than 70 days,” says Ajay, adding, “We shot in real locations and did not build any sets.” He says the film shows untapped locations in Vizag.

Describing Maha Samudram as an intense emotional drama, Ajay says for him the biggest challenge was to surpass the emotions he had created in his earlier film RX100. “But thankfully I feel we have achieved it,” he beams, and expresses confidence that it will give audiences a unique experience. He adds that one of the major highlights of the film would be the gripping screenplay and the way the principal characters unfold.
