An IIT graduate, Srikanth Challa’s transition into the world of films happened when he was still in college, where he used to work on documentaries. The director’s first film, Vasham a crowd funded effort, recently released to a decent response.
“I was working as a co-writer for Chandamama Kathalu with director Praveen Sattaru, who convinced me to work on a different subject. That’s how this story with elements of science came about. It’s a psychological thriller,” reveals Srikanth.
Interestingly, a majority of the contributors for the film were IIT and IIM graduates.
“We have put up half of the film’s script online. It generated interest and nearly 10,000 people read it. Eventually, 120 people came together to produce the film,” Srikanth shares.
While the film has had only a small release, the director is unperturbed. “The response from whoever has watched the film has been great. I am going to take a small break before moving on to my next film.
