Search for lead actress took eight months: Parasuram

Director Parasuram is known to be a sensible director who has made only a few films, but all of them have been successful. His forthcoming film titled Geetha Govindam stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna.

Interestingly, the director’s last film outing was Srirastu Subhamastu three years ago. Ask why he took so much time to come up with his next film and Parasuram says, “I narrated the story to producer Allu Aravind and he gave his nod to go ahead. But the female lead is key to this film and we couldn’t find an actress to do the role.” He adds that the search for the lead actress went on for nearly eight months before finally zeroing in on Rashmika Mandanna.

“We signed Vijay before Arjun Reddy released, but post that film, he became even more popular and that definitely helped our film. But the characterisation in my film is very different from his earlier film,” says Parasuram.

Describing his film’s story, he says, “Two people with different ideologies meet and fall in love, but because of their egos, they face some complications. How they come out of their problems is narrated in an entertaining way.”

The director’s next projects are with Allu Aravind and production house Mythri Movie Makers.
