Dishita Sehgal's Telugu debut
The star kid who has won everyone's heart with her performances in Dear Zingadi and Hindi Medium, is thrilled about her Telugu debut.
Dishita Sehgal has suddenly become the most important child artiste in Bollywood. Having faced the camera for the very first time at the tender age of four, she has no stage fright. Apart from playing Akshay Kumar’s daughter in Baby, Dishita is a personality to reckon with in the advertisement arena as well. And ever since she acted as Irrfan Khan’s daughter in the superhit film, Hindi medium, offers have only been pouring in!
And now, Dishita is all set to become the rising baby star of Tollywood too. She is debuting in a Telugu film titled Savyasachi, which, according to reports, will be a thriller. Being helmed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film stars Naga Chaitanya in the lead role. Actress Niddhi Agarwal plays his girlfriend in the film, while Dishita, whose screen name is Maha, plays Chaitanya’s niece.
The cute actress is currently enjoying the shoot at Annapurna Studio. Talking about her favourite scene from the film, she says, “I have enjoyed one particular scene wherein I am sitting with tons of toys. I was completely immersed in playing with them, unaware of the fact that R. Madhavan uncle is staring at me from somewhere. I have some major scenes with him too.” Notably, Madhavan will be seen in a special role in the film.
Dishita adds, “Madhavan uncle is very supportive whenever I get a little nervous. He always boosts me by saying, ‘You are a rock star! You will do it! Come on!’” So what is Dishita’s role in the story? “I have been told that I am playing the central character in the film, which revolves around me. I have just done one small scene with Naga Chaitanya. I have to complete a 20-day schedule and I have completed five days shoot till now,” says the cute little peanut.
What’s commendable about this kid is that she is also learning Telugu for her role. “It is a difficult language, but I am starting to love it. Uncle Chandoo (the director) helps me speak the dialogues to the best of my ability. I liked the dialogues more so because they were connected to my toys,” she explains.
So what does Dishita like about Hyderabad? “Since I have to attend school as well, I have not been able to stay here regularly. But this Sunday I am in Hyderabad and shooting is off. So I will go visiting Charminar and other places,” she answers.
And what about the food here? An excited Dishita is quick to reply. “Oh! I love idly and sambhar. I find the sambhar tastier in comparison to the one in Mumbai. Also, every second day, I love eating chicken biryani which is my favourite food here. I will go to Paradise Hotel to taste the delicious chicken biryani. I also love the weather here. It is cool during December months,” she concludes.
