As the worldwide box office returns of the Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0 all set to cross Rs 600 crore, the superstar seems to have become the lucky mascot for his counterparts in Bollywood who dream of such global hits in their kitty.

Take the case of Akshay Kumar who is a Bollywood superhero but none of his films have crossed the Rs 250 crore mark. The association with Rajini has vaulted him to another league and he can’t stop grinning. “The worldwide collections for 2.0 are much more than the collections of his other two releases, PadMan and Gold,” a source points out.

Thinking man’s actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is now starring opposite Rajini in the Tamil film, Petta, by Karthik Subbaraj. The Manto actor obviously is looking at a repeat of Akshay Kumar’s experience. Actor Aishwarya Rai’s biggest grosser worldwide is Robot where she is paired opposite Rajini.

Kaala too had Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi in it and even though the film was not a big hit, it still grossed Rs 250 crore which is the highest grosser for both these Bollywood actors. Kabali had Radhika Apte in the lead and it turned out to be a good decision for her as was starring in Lingaa for  Sonakshi Sinha, the source adds
