Is This Why Jr NTR Met Netflix CEO?
The much-hyped Telugu film “Devara’ starring superstar Jr NTR is one of the most-awaited films across India and despite a one-to-one meeting with Netflix CEO Ted Sarados over lunch with NTR, the deal is yet to be signed up. “Netflix showed a lot of interest to procure the rights of ‘Devara’ since it is another pan-India movie loaded with action and romance but nothing has been fixed yet," says a source and adds “However, discussions are underway since the makers of ‘Devara’ are quoting a fancy price,” he adds.
No doubt, the action adventure has raised expectations since it marks the debut of Bollywood diva Jhanvi Kapoor and also marks the comeback of ace Tamil composer Anirudh Ravichander to Tollywood. “It is one of craziest combinations in terms of both heroine and composer besides it has capable director Koratala Siva to dish out a heart-wrenching story packed with mind-blowing action. “Koratala Siva took extra time to develop the script until it turned into a sure fire winner. Already, Jhanvi's first look has received great response, while NTR is towering over all with his brooding angry look reflected in varied posters,”he adds.
Nonetheless, man of masses NTR, received global acclaim after the release of 'RRR’ and the film also holds the distinction of being Netflix’s most-streamed movie last year, with universal praise for Komaram Bheem role. NTR hosted a special lunch for Netflix team. “Netlfix wants to tie up with the scion of Nandamuri clan and they would be bagging the rights of his upcoming movie to cash in on his worldwide popularity,” he concludes.
