From real to reel
The film’s story further encapsulates how people experience the same emotions.
Looks like yet another Telugu film will have a plot inspired by real-life stories. Debutant director Karuna Kumar’s forthcoming film, Palasa 1978, which stars Rakshit and Nakshatra, highlights the burning issues from 1978–2018, including those around cashew and folk arts in Srikakulam.
“You have to watch the film to find out what that burning issue is,” explains Karuna Kumar, adding that his film will reflect on the times and tales of the 1978–2018 period against an Uttarandhra backdrop.
“So far, in most films we have heard characters speaking in Srikakulam accent that is rather comical, but that’s not the real accent of the region; my film captures the life in Uttarandhra, the folk arts and the theatrical and cultural side of the people there,” he adds.
The film’s story further encapsulates how people experience the same emotions. “The film will be high on intensity and emotions while staying true to the times.
“No matter which part of the state or country you come from, the emotions are same for everyone, and that’s what I’ve tried to chronicle in my film,” explains Karuna Kumar.
