Actress' documentary Roots, which she has directed, will be screened at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival.
Telugu actress Shweta Basu Prasad has several reasons to be excited about, but the most recent one seems to be her documentary film Roots, that is going to premiere at the ongoing Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Mumbai, on Friday.
This project, directed and produced by Shweta, is an interview-based documentary. The project is about the dying artform of Indian classical music and features interviews with A.R. Rahman, Pt Shivkumar Sharma, Pt Jasraj, Vishal Bharadwaj, Shubha Mudgal, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and many others. The film also has a 10-minute animation sequence featuring the 5,000 years of Indian music history. The actress is happy that her documentary is premiering at this festival. It’s been a long journey for her since she started interviewing all these stalwarts. Now, she’s thrilled at the opportunity of meeting the legendary musicians.
