Rakul Preet Singh to play medico

Actress Rakul Preet Singh who is co-starring with Mahesh Babu for the first time in director A.R. Murugadoss’ next, will play a medico. The film is touted to be an action thriller. “Rakul has an important role in the film and she’s not there just to provide an element of glamour. It would be interesting because in most Murugadoss’s projects, the heroines have little to do and are mainly there for songs — a separate track is made for them, which is always away from the plot. Rakul’s character though will be woven into the story,” says a source. The film is set to release on June 23 and will see Mahesh donning the role of an investigator. A bilingual in Tamil and Telugu, the film’s title hasn’t been announced yet. Buzz is that the film could be titled either Sambhavami or Spider. The first look poster and title will be unveiled soon. N.V. Prasad and Tagore Madhu are bankrolling the film.
