Actor Rajasekhar’s next film is all set to take off soon! The film, titled Kalki, will be a high-budget one and will feature the actor in a new cop role. The art work for the period drama, set against a Telangana backdrop, is on in full swing, with as many as three huge sets erected on the city outskirts. Apparently, the filmmakers did not find suitable locations during their recce, and spent close to Rs 2 crore for erecting the sets.

Director Prasanth Varma has the arduous task of recreating the era ahead of him, and he’s leaving no stone unturned to ensure that it’s done as authentically as possible. “Three sets — temple, a toddy center and a local market — have been erected on the city outskirts. The makers spent considerable time scouting for suitable locations and since they couldn’t get the required localities, they are recreating the period setting. The two-week schedule will commence from September 19,” says a source.
