Sunny Leone to play NRI in Gali Nageshwara Rao…
The first shooting schedule has been completed, and Sunny shot for her part in it
Sunny Leone will be one of the leading ladies (along with Payal Rajput) in Gali Nageshwara Rao, the makers of Manchu Vishnu’s next film have announced. She is making a comeback to Tollywood after eight years.
Current Theega (2014) is the last Telugu film Sunny was seen in.
The actress will play Renuka, an NRI, in the new laugh riot directed by Ishan Surya.
Screenwriter Kona Venkat says “It’s a strong role – that of an NRI woman who comes to a village in India. I believe Sunny Leone has the charm to captivate the audience in such a role.”
He says he narrated the script to the actress via a Zoom call during the lockdown in 2020. “She listened to the script from the audience's perspective. She thoroughly enjoyed it and was laughing and also felt emotional during the two-hour narration. She immediately agreed to be part of the film.”
The first shooting schedule has been completed, and Sunny shot for her part in it.
The film is set in a hamlet called Rangampeta in Tirupati. The story was director G Nageshwar Reddy’s, says Kona Venkat, adding that it was later developed into a full-fledged story with strong characters.
“The story tells how the lives of the villagers are transformed after Sunny’s arrival,” elaborates Kona, adding that Vishnu’s character is the backbone for the entire transformation.
“Vishnu, Sunny Leone and Payal Rajput are seen as friends in the film. “The camaraderie they share is a treat to watch,” he says.
Interestingly, Current Theega had Manchu Manoj, Vishnu’s younger brother, in the lead. “It’s a coincidence,” Kona commented.
