Sonu Sood feeling nostalgic
The actor seems to be going the distance in preparing for the role of P.V. Sindhu’s coach Pullela Gopichand in his upcoming film.
While Sonu Sood has been busy working on the script of his forthcoming film — a biopic on P. V. Sindhu — the actor has simultaneously also been prepping quite hard to reprise Sindhu’s coach Pullela Gopichand in the film.
“I have been playing badminton since childhood days. I started playing with my mother who, in fact, was a coach. We’ve indeed made some great memories together. However, ever since I got into films and fitness, I haven’t been able to find the time to play the sport. And now that I’m going to step into the shoes of a mentor in my next film, it is making me kind of nostalgic,” he said. In order to prepare for his part, Sonu has apparently transformed one block of his apartment complex into a badminton court.
Additionally, he has also roped in a coach to train him. “I want to do justice to the character that I’ve taken up, so I have started polishing my skills. We have enough space in my apartment complex, so I figured it would be a good idea to practise here itself.” About his role, Sonu said, “To portray Gopichand ji on screen is an honour. I have met him a few times. We’ve discussed the various technicalities of the game.”
