Producer Abhishek Agarwal might be loaded with his various exciting projects like Tiger Nageshwara Rao, Goodachari 2, Sita, etc. but that has evidently not stopped him from taking up more. The producer (in association with Anil Sunkara) has now officially announced a biopic on the former Indian president A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, thereby confirming the rumours that were doing the rounds. “Yes, we are pleased to announce that we are bankrolling the prestigious project. The film is currently in its pre-production phase,” Abhishek said.

He added that they have obtained all the requisite permissions from Kalam’s family for the film.

We then asked Abhishek what inspired him to take up the biopic on the Missile Man of India.

“We have taken up the production of several films which are based on true stories, and we essentially want to inspire the youth with such films. And as far as Kalam sir is concerned, he’s our next hero after Mahatma Gandhiji. Kalam sir a towering personality who has inspired people from all over the world.”

The director and cast of the biopic have not been finalised yet, though. However, Abhishek seems quite busy with Goodachari 2, which is also in pre-production at this point. Further, the filming of Tiger Nageshwara Rao is expected to commence soon. “We have a few more collaborations in the pipeline, the details of which will be announced soon,” Abhishek signed off. Meanwhile, the trailer of Sita has been getting great acclaim. “I believe director Teja’s portrayal of the lead characters (Kajal and Bellamkonda Sreenivas) in the film, makes for a winner.”
