He asserts that making space in Kollywood and Bollywood is not an easy task.

Despite gaining fame across the world, leading Telugu producer DVV Danayya has no plans to move to other language films like his colleagues Dil Raju, Suryadevara Nagavamsi, and Sunil Narang.

“Danayya wishes luck to his colleagues for venturing into Kollywood, but he has no such plans," says a source and adds, “He is happy with Telugu cinema and doesn’t want to step outside the two Telugu states."

He further claims that a few Hindi and Tamil stars showed interest in working with him since he made one of the costliest films ‘RRR’ in Indian cinema. "He was approached by other language stars, but he shunned their feelers since he doesn't want to move out of his comfort zone. He does have the money, but he doesn't want to splurge it on other language movies," he adds.

He says that Danayya would prefer to roll out more Telugu films than try his hand at other languages. “Every industry has its own monarchs who rule the roost, so it is better to stick to Tollywood. It is our domain and also he knows the taste of the Telugu audience much better,” he adds.

He asserts that making space in Kollywood and Bollywood is not an easy task because even the legendary filmmaker Rama Naidu had to return to Telugu films. “Telugu filmmakers will have a tough time since they don’t have a complete understanding of those budgets and markets. Besides big stars and directors will extract hefty sums as remuneration since he is a cash-rich producer, which is unfair. He will spend money, where it is needed but doesn’t like to turn spendthrift for the sake of it,” he points out.

On the work front, he is doling out Rs 200 crore for this upcoming film “OG;’ with superstar Pawan Kalyan and it is being directed by Sujeeth. He is also planning to bankroll a massive action entertainer with hotshot star Nani and it will be helmed by Vivek Athreya. “He will be focusing on these prestigious movies,” the source concludes.
