Regina Cassandra mixes style and substance
The best part of the role is that it stays close to reality and depicts the life and difficulties of a dancer.
Looks like Regina Cassandra has decided to take up substantial roles. While she’s fast wrapping up a Tamil period drama opposite Rana Daggubati, the Jyo Achyutananda actress will be seen in the role of a dance assistant in her forthcoming film Nakshatram, directed by Krishna Vamsi.
“I play a dance assistant, and it’s an interesting role, a first for me. I play the heroine’s friend and the character had great potential to exhibit my acting skills. The best part of the role is that it stays close to reality and depicts the life and difficulties of a dancer,” she says.
Regina is glad that she also got an opportunity to sway in style. “I’ve never got roles that needed me to shake a leg, except for performances at filmi dos, but you’ll see me dancing a lot in this film. Playing a dance assistant was a new experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a role that has a good mix of style and substance,” she adds.
