Mumbai girl Aditi Singh is making her Tollywood debut with the film, Guppedantha Prema. Aditi says, “Since my childhood I wanted to be an actress. Many want to be an engineer, a doctor etc. But, I had decided at a young age that I wanted to make a career in acting.” Aditi is the daughter of yesteryear Bollywood actor Jainendra Pratap Singh, who acted in films like Deewana Mujh Sa Nahin, Dayavan and Pathar Dil.

The 18-year-old says that she reduced a lot of weight for the film. “I was nearly 85 kg. After I got this offer, I started reducing weight. The director felt that my face was perfect for his script,” says Aditi, adding that she has reduced almost 35 kg. “I reduced my weight during the pre-production,” she explains. When she came to Hyderabad for auditioning, they gave her a scene from Ala Modalaindi. “It was very tough for me due to the language, culture and place,” she says, adding that since then she has been watching Telugu films and learning the language. “The language is very tough, but I decided to practice it. I would sleep only for three to four hours as I was practicing the dialogues and understanding their meaning,” she says. She knew that someone would dub for her, but she wanted the lip-sync to be perfect.

“They asked me to watch Murari, Toli Prema, Ye Maya Chesave and many other Telugu films. After watching these films, I fell in love with Telugu films and I started watching more of it,” she says, adding that she has also seen the latest releases A.. Aa.. and Okka Ammayi Thappa in the theatre. “I liked Trivikram sir’s film, it was very nice,” she says, adding that she is very fond of Allu Arjun’s dance and she would like to act in period films like Magadheera and Rudhramadevi.

Her favourite actress is Nithya Menen. “I loved her performance in Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju, and her expressions. She is an amazing actress. I saw her film Ok Bangaram in Mumbai,” adds Aditi. In her debut film, she is playing Sandy, a strong and independent girl. “She is simple, dignified and a homely girl with high regards for her parents. It is a love story with lots of emotions, romance and pain. I am lucky that I got a very good role in my first film,” says Aditi.

The actress says that Hyderabad is now her second home. “Yes, I can tell you the route from Kukatpally to Hitec City and then to Jubilee Hills. I can travel alone without help in Hyderabad as I know most of the places,” she says. Her dad is happy with her performance. “I invited my dad for the audio launch of the film and when they showed the promo of my song, I saw a big smile on his face,” recalls the debutante.
