Movie Artiste Association’s never-ending woes!
President Naresh is accused of being indifferent and dictatorial in his decisions, prompting Executive Vice-President Rajasekhar to step in.
The Movie Artiste Association (MAA) is once again back in the news, thanks to its President, Naresh. Though he took charge a few months back, the Association is reportedly not functioning well as Naresh does not seem to be taking up any of the issues in front of the body. Sources inform that he does not even come to the office regularly!
Taking serious note of this, on Tuesday, Executive Vice-President and senior actor Rajasekhar went to the MAA office to look into the long pending issues.
Apparently, following the elections, they were also supposed to meet the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, but the President did not take any such initiative. “A few days ago, some of the Executive Committee members met at Rajasekhar’s house to discuss the present situation of MAA. Naresh was also invited, but he didn’t turn up, citing some personal reasons,” says a source, adding that the Committee decided to put Naresh aside and take over the MAA, whose problems seem never-ending. Last year, the organisation was in the news for misuse of funds and the ongoing differences between Sivaji Raja and Naresh. And although everyone had great hopes from Naresh after he became the President, he does not seem to be showing any interest in the regular activities of the body.
“Usually, issues are discussed in the Committee meeting before deciding on the course of action. But Naresh only believes in the approval of the top four people. All the other members are against this kind of behaviour, so they complained to Rajasekhar,” shares the source, revealing that the latter is in touch with the Telangana and AP Chief Minister’s offices. “They want to meet both the CMs to discuss a few issues,” adds the source. Meanwhile, Naresh seems unaware of all these happenings and is likely to opt out as he is busy with his personal career, the source informs.
