Ravi Varma rises from the ashes
He has shown a fly as a lead actor in his film. It has given new ideas to many filmmakers. I too was inspired by it, says Varma.
Actor Ravi Varma is busy shooting for Hyderabad Slum Dogs, his debut as a director in Tollywood.
“The story revolves around two slum dog boys and how they take inspiration from the legendary bird, the phoenix, that rises from the ashes, 500 years after burning itself. I am making the bird on computer graphics and will be showing its history in brief.
“I believe in my story. It’s not a regular song-dance kind of film, nor is it a documentary as there are commercial elements to the subject. It will give new ideas to many people,” says Ravi Varma who actually got this idea after he saw Rajamouli’s Eega.
“He has shown a fly as a lead actor in his film. It has given new ideas to many filmmakers. I too was inspired by it,” says Varma.
He added that there is a strong message in his film, the subject of which cannot be revealed but he is sure that it won’t disappoint anyone.
About 80 per cent of the film’s shooting has been completed so far. The two lead actors for this movie are Vishwa and Kishore, while Rushali and Mounika are playing the female leads.
