Nithya Shetty into the big league

Nithya Shetty is making her debut as the lead actress with Padesave. As a kid, Nithya had acted as a child artiste in nearly 20 films, including Devullu.

After completing her studies, she had joined Infosys as an employee. “After a few months I left my job because my mind was completely into acting,” she says, adding, “I can’t balance both my job and acting, so I resigned and decided to focus completely on acting.”

Hyderabad born Nithya went for the audition of this film as the second lead. “I was not interested when I heard that it was for the second female lead. But after the audition, director Chunia told me that there was no first or second lead in the film. ‘There are three important characters and your one of them,’ she said, adding that my role carried the film. So that’s how I got this project,” she says.
She has been cast opposite Karthik Raj in the film. “It’s a love triangle and a feel-good film. I can’t say that this is a great epic, it’s a regular commercial love story, but you will enjoy a lot,” adds Nithya.

She says there isnt a big difference working as a child artiste and a lead actress.

“When I was a kid they used to pamper me a lot. When it comes to the lead it’s different even if you are crying, you should do it in a beautiful manner,” says the actress.

She has signed a film opposite Rahul Ravindran. “I am playing one of the three lead actresses opposite Rahul,” she says. She has signed a Tamil film, which is slated to release soon.
