Babu Bangaram was senior actor Venkatesh’s comeback movie after a year’s hiatus and was released with a lot of hype and expectations. However, the movie failed to impress the fans, who are pointing fingers at director Maruthi for bringing out this  movie, which was touted as an entertainer. But according to a source, the film’s story was completely different from what Maruthi had narrated to Venkatesh.

“Even the shooting had begun with Maruthi’s script, but after some time, Venkatesh put pressure on bringing changes in the script. The shooting had to be stalled for some time and a few scenes were reshot,” says the source, adding that some scenes shot with actors Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji, Murali Sharma, Jayaprakash and Nayanthara didn’t make it to the final cut.

“If they completed the film as per the original script, it would have been a good film, but now, there are a lot of criticisms, especially for the second half of the film,” says a source from the unit. Suryadevara Nagavamsi has produced the movie. Despite all the mixed reviews, the movie is doing well at the box office and has collected nearly Rs 15 crore so far.
