Noted star Chiranjeevi is going to do a straight Telugu film with director Kalyan Krishna and it is not the remake of the Malayalam blockbuster ‘Bro Daddy’ featuring Mohanlal and Prithviraj. Actually, director Kalyan Krishna made ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ and ‘Rarandoi Veduka Chudam’ with Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya respectively, and tasted huge success.

He has now penned a heart-wrenching emotional drama revolving around a middle-aged father and his young son. “Chiranjeevi was very impressed with the emotional saga and gave his nod since Kalyan Krishna is adept in dishing out family dramas and could deliver another wholesome entertainer like his previous hits,” says a source

But on the rumors that it would be a remake of Malayalam blockbuster ‘Bro Daddy’ he adds, “This is not a remake although both are father and son stories but they are as different as chalk and cheese.” He further says that actually, reigning star Ram Charan Tej bought the Telugu remake rights of Malayalam movies like 'Bro Daddy’ and ‘Driving Licence,’ long ago as he liked those movies for their unique content so people are getting confused about it.

“Ram Charan may remake them at a later date but right now Chiranjeevi is prepping up for a down-to-earth role to impress his fans with his acting prowess,” he concludes.

It seems to be the right move since the Tamil remake 'Bhola Shankar' has dented his ratings and he needs to bounce back with a straight subject similar to ‘Waltair Veerayya’ after the not-so-impressive ‘Godfather’ which was a remake of the Malayalam movie with the same name.
