Looks like filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is gaining the much-required hype for his forthcoming film, Lakshmi’s NTR. Apparently, he is about to file a case against The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) because the board has declared that they cannot process his film for examining and certification till the commencement of the 1st phase of polls on April 11 2019.

The censor board apparently cited that the film attracts the provisions of the model code of conduct for elections which state that all parties and candidates have to refrain from the criticism of political parties and any and all aspects of the private lives of politicians.

RGV argued that this act of the censor board amounts to blatant pre-censorship, which is in violation of the fundamental right of Freedom of Expression under Article 19 of the Constitution of India. Adding that YSRCP’s Lakshmi Parvathi’s statements against the Telugu Desam Party have absolutely no relevance with this film, RGV is determined to take the issue to the court and file a case against the board in the context of abuse of power.
