Sairat in Telugu and Tamil
Nagaraj Manjule, who directed the Marathi version, is in contention to helm the South remake.
Finally, the most talked about film, Sairat is going to be remade in Telugu and Tamil. Popular producer Rockline Venkatesh, in association with Zee Studios, has made an official announcement that he liked the film and wants to remake it in South languages. “We have already selected the cast and technicians,” says Rockline in his announcement. Though he hasn’t mentioned the director’s name nor the lead pair, a source tells us that they have roped in new faces.
“The storyline is not suitable for established actors. So, they are going ahead with new faces,” added the source. There are a few names being tossed about as the director, but Zee Studios have suggested Nagaraj Manjule, who directed the Marathi version, as the better choice to helm the South remake.
