Aakanksha Singh feels blessed

The actress will train to play hockey for her upcoming role in clap, opposite Aadhi Pinisetty.

Actress Aakanksha Singh is quickly making rapid strides in the South. After getting acclaim for her performances in Malli Raava and Devdas, the actress will be seen in a bilingual film, Clap, directed by debutant Prithvi Aditya. While the protagonist will play a sprinter, Aakanksha will be seen playing the role of a hockey player in the sports drama.

“I play Mithra, and the emotional arch of my character was so big that it made me take up the film. I possess an emotionally strong attitude,” reveals Aakanksha Singh, adding, “In my earlier films (Malli Raava and Devdas) my character had a fun side to it, but in this film, it will be an emotional ride.”

While Aakanksha play- ed basketball and handball during her childhood, hockey is something she is prepping up for. “I am yet to start learning the ropes of the sport, and shall pick up the nuances once I start shooting for the film in Chennai,” she shares.

The actress states that getting to play such strong roles is indeed a blessing. “I want to thank the filmmakers for penning such meaty roles and casting me. I’m fortunate to be playing interesting roles that bring out different dimensions in me,” she signs off.
