Adith Arun’s forthcoming Sushanth-Reddy directorial Dear Megha has been in the news for all the right reasons. Starring him and Megha Akash, the film revolves around a mother-son story. The film, we are told, also has a romantic angle to it.

“What I liked about the script was the emotional curve my character goes through. This is something I haven’t done earlier,” explains the actor.
Adith plays a spirited youngster in the film. “My role is a bit laid-back, but it was tough for me to play a sober guy,” he says.

In the pursuit of success

For someone who has been in the industry for more than a decade, Adith says that his journey has been a rollercoaster ride. “My debut film Katha released when I was 17 years old and still studying in college. Also, being a rank outsider, my journey has been constantly exploring through every opportunity I got. In fact, sometimes I’ve wondered why my films aren’t setting the cash registers ringing,” he explains.

Over time, he began understanding that it took more than just guts to sustain in the industry. “I took my own time to understand life in cinema and how the industry operates. So I was never in a hurry. In fact, there are only a few outsiders in the industry from the time I came into it,” he describes.

Adith does not shy away from the fact that survival in the industry is difficult unless one is exceptionally good at acting. “Becoming prominent doesn’t happen by chance. It requires special skills and rigorous hard work,” points out Adith, who has around seven films lined up. “The reason for my longevity is my efforts. I am very sincere in my pursuits and that shows onscreen.”

Taking on life as an adventure

The actor is one who likes to believe in his instincts. And he’s not one to talk about himself. “For instance, some of my films may not have done well, but I know I am not the reason for it,” he smiles. “Several factors come into the picture, including the release time and theatres’ availability. And because of this clarity in me, failures do not affect me.”

Away from this filmy side, not many know that Adith is an adventure junkie, who’d scaled mountain peaks. He did Mount Fuji in 2018. Before that, in 2017, he scaled Mount Bathur and then Mount Agung, where he even witnessed a volcanic eruption.

“I watched it from another mountain afar. I could see the smoke. Watching volcanoes erupt is amazing — as much as it’s scary it’s a magnificent sight,” shares the Chikati Gadilo Chithakotudu actor, who is also into river rafting and other adventure sports.
