Varun Tej bounces back
The actor was bedridden for 60 days after a serious leg injury. He's recovered, and back in the circuit now.
Ram Charan’s cousin Varun Tej who made a very impressive debut in Krish’s Kanche went through a post-debut setback. Says the young actor, “Everything was going smooth till I broke my leg and was bed-ridden for about 60 days. If that wasn’t bad enough Raayabari with director Krish got stalled due to few technical issues!”
And now Varun is back. “I’m currently doing two projects — one is Mister with director Srinu Vaitla and the other is Fidaa directed by Shekar Kamulla. I am working on both simultaneously.”
Varun admits demonetisaton has played havoc with the entire Telugu film industry. “My brother’s movie (Charan’s Dhruva) definitely took to a slightly slow start because of demonetisation. Luckily, word of mouth helped the movie pick up.”
Varun agrees that there’s an economic depression. “Though it’s a good decision by the government towards eradicating corruption, there is a definite drop in spending by people. Hopefully things will settle soon and people will come out of this suffering.”
