Do you know the real production cost of Salaar ?
Producer Vijay Kirgandur's meticulous planning and exceution came in handy
Contrary to reports that the production cost of ‘Salaar Chapter 1- Ceasefire’ has been made anywhere between Rs 350 to 400 crores, a reliable source, who worked in the team claims that it was made with below Rs 300 crores. “The actual production cost of 'Salaar’ is just Rs 270 crore-plus including star and technicians fees besides making costs and VFX work,” says the source who claims that director Prashanth Neel and producer Vijay Kirgandur drew a meticulous plan and were able to keep the costs under check. “Any other producer and director would have spent more for this action adventure. It was made in three fictional cities. Along with a big star cast including superstar Prabhas, Shruti Haasan and Privithraj Sukumaran and others and still make a financially viable movie,” he adds.
The producers are not pushing distributors for big prices since they are confident of recovering their investments through non-theatrical and digital rights. “They are going to bag a major sum of their investment from digital rights since it is a multilingual film and has triggered a craze across India. Top digital brands are negotiating and the producers are going to clinch a fancy deal soon,” he adds.
Actually, ace Kannada producer Vijay Kirgandur became a name to reckon with across India after blockbusters like ‘KGF” and ‘Kantara’. He is on the verge of another blockbuster. “Vijay managed to bring in finances on the strength of his name for 'Salaar' and delivered a big budget entertainer. He has drawn up big plans for his upcoming film ‘Kantara 2’ too and aims to reach newer heights,” he concludes.
