Social media has now taken it as a sign of gender bias and a picture of Rudhramadevi with a moustache is doing the rounds.

Social media is very quick to take up any issue and now the issue of tax exemption is doing the rounds. While the Andhra Pradesh government gave a tax exemption to Balakrishna’s Gautamiputra Satakarni, it didn’t do the same to the historic film released earlier, Rudhramadevi, directed and produced by Gunasekhar.

The director even wrote a letter to the AP Chief Minister about this issue. Interestingly, the film was granted a tax exemption by the Telangana government.

Social media has now taken it as a sign of gender bias and a picture of Rudhramadevi with a moustache is doing the rounds. The contention is that the latest film’s protagonist is a male and played by Balakrishna, who is the brother-in-law of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. It now remains to be seen how the AP government will react to this.
