A biopic on the notorious and widely talked about thief from the ’70s, ‘Tiger’ Nageswara Rao is in the offing. The life and times of the man who hailed from Stuartpuram of Prakasam district will now come alive on the big screen.
Interestingly, Nageswara Rao was known for his robberies and clever way of escaping from the police, and if caught, from prison too! In fact, it was one such escape from a Chennai jail that gave him the moniker of ‘Tiger’.
Till date, his photo hangs at the main door of his house in Stuartpuram and is a well-known tourist spot. The thief was finally shot dead by the police in 1987.
Director Vamsi Krishna, who helmed Dongaata and Kittu Unnadu Jagratha will be helming the film that will be bankrolled by Anil Sunkara’s AK Entertainments. It is learnt that a leading star is keen to be part of the film.
