Allu Sirish’s debut into Malayalam cinema was discussed widely, more so because it was to happen alongside the legendary Mohanlal. Turns out the much hyped debut in 1971: Beyond Borders didn’t really go well because the film has opened to average reviews. It’s been over a week since the film’s release and the response overall has been dismal. However, Sirish’s performance has received good reviews.
Interestingly, the same role was initially offered to Rana Daggubati who couldn’t take it up as he couldn’t allot dates to the film as he was busy with other projects. It was then, after scouting several names, that the makers thought Sirish could be a good choice.
