In her prime, Raasi was one of the most sought-after actresses in the Telugu film industry. She had roles specially written for her and was cast mostly in performance oriented roles. But the actress reveals that despite all the stardom during her time, they didn’t have it as easy as actresses of today.

“We didn’t have so many facilities or so much of ease. There were no caravans or anything, and even if we had to change, we’d have someone holding a cloth or something to cover us!” shares the actress.

Interestingly, she reveals that the kind of remunerations being given to mainstream actresses these days is phenomenal when compared to how they were paid. “Our remuneration was really less. Almost equivalent to what a character artiste makes on a single day today,” she states.

The actress was talking to the media during her promotions for Lanka, her next film which is based on the concept of telepathy and is directed by her husband S.S. Nivas. She plays a pivotal character in the film and her look has already generated a great deal of interest.
